Chart notes
WICKED MERCURY patiently settled into stride trailing the pack early on down the backside, improved on the rail to watch the lead trio at the half, shifted out three wide commencing a rally at the quarter pole, posed the main opposition four wide entering the stretch and tenaciously wore down the front runner in the last jump for the win. CLASSY IMAGE had a narrow lead three deep at the start, rolled along up front down the backside, opened up while in hand midway around the turn, was still moving well in control at the top of the lane but could not find just a little bit extra late and was caught in the final stride for the win at the wire in a tight photo. VERI GIZMO pressed the pace with runners on either side along the backside, chased three wide through the turn, continued to try to reel in the frontrunner in upper stretch, was no match for the top pair in the final furlong and managed to just hold for the show award at the finish line. SHE MAKES A POINT settled near the rear between runners, continued stalking three wide ahead of only one rival through the turn and angled out to the five path for the drive to the wire but made little presence in the stretch running. IZATIZ prompted the pace on the inside in the early stages, was scrubbed on at the quarter pole but could not match strides with top two at the top of the lane, dueled for a minor share two wide in the stretch run but weakened in the final sixteenth of a mile. SACRED DANCER travelled in midfield four deep in the beginning, settled at the rear by the half, made no headway at the back of the pack through the turn, shifted out three wide but could not factor to the finish while under urging, stumbled galloping out dislodging the rider and walked off.
