Chart notes

FORESTER HUMOR was part of the fray up top on the fence into the backstretch, improved at the half to seize command on the rail, edged away on the front midway around the bend, was clinging to the lead on the rail in upper stretch, responded well but drifted in when urged right-handed to the wire but stubbornly prevailed at the finish line just holding off the closing in rivals in the end. SOUPER RIVER was part of the last group inside runners down the backside, could see the field around the turn, shifted outside to the four-path gathering speed at the quarter pole, swung out widest full of run in the eight-path turning for home and was flying on end late but could not get to the winner in deep stretch coming up a stride short at the finish line. GRAND ALLIANCE travelled three deep in the back threesome outside runners, closed the gap going four wide around the bend, angled to the six path having clear run for the drive, drifted in under right-handed encouragement closing in at the sixteenth pole and finished up strongly but was on the losing end of a three-way photo for the win between rivals at the wire. PRIMO TOUCH stalked between horses in the last group along the backside, edged closer three wide between rivals on the turn, shifted to the five path for the stretch run, was in tight losing his path at the sixteenth pole, checked briefly while shifting further outside late and still managed to fight back for a minor role in the end. BANKER'S HOURS had a slim advantage between foes in the three path with six runners across entering the backstretch, dueled outside the winner for the lead at the half, was hard ridden trying to keep up to the leader around the bend, chased to no avail in the two path in mid-stretch, finally had enough and faded in the final seventy yards. MEXICOFFEE travelled six deep in the group vying for the lead at the start, forced the pace four wide outside three others at the half, continued to shadow outside four wide under a ride throughout the turn, still was in range in the five path straightening out for home but had little left in the late stages and flattened out in the final sixteenth. LUCYS CHILD was in the two path part of the group up front in the beginning, settled in mid-pack inside foes at the half, took the short way around but was being passed on the outside through the turn, rallied smartly on the fence in upper stretch to be dueling for a minor share at the eighth pole but faded in the final seventy yards. UNDER SURVEILLANCE was one of many up top leaving the chute, was throttled down to sit in midfield outside at the half, made little movement through the turn and while three wide for the stretch drive could not get into contention running to the finish line. COMMANDER JOE was part of the mix battling for the lead early on while three wide between foes at the half, tried to maintain forward position three wide around the turn, had a chance for a piece of the prize in the three path down the lane, had little left in the late running and emptied out by the final furlong.
