Chart notes
MAN CHILD dueled from inside, maintained a narrow advantage over FIFTH STREET through the turn, brushed with that rival entering the stretch, fought head to head down the lane and gamely prevailed. FIFTH STREET dueled outside MAN CHILD for early supremacy, battled two wide through the turn, brushed entering the lane, dug in through the drive but could not get by the winner. MISCHELOF (CHI) coaxed along just out of range early, drew closer on the inside then two wide on the turn, tipped outside at the top of the lane but finished evenly late. PETESOLDFASHIONED broke a step slow, chased from off the pace, ridden along four then three wide on the turn, angled in upper stretch and failed to threaten. STAN FROM MALIBU stalked the dueling pair to the turn, chased three to four wide around the bend and weakened. TALLIS trailed up the backstretch from inside, eased out to the five path around the turn and was never a factor. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE STRETCH RUN AND RULED THAT ALTHOUGH THERE WAS SLIGHT CONTACT BETWEEN MAN CHILD AND FIFTH STREET, IT DID NOT COST FIFTH STREET A CHANCE AT A BETTER PLACING AND THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
