Chart notes
MADAME GAZELLE hustled away from the start, assumed early command and set a pressured pace heading to the half-mile marker, showed good speed into the turn and carved out quick fractions while pressed to the quarter pole, confronted by LA POPIS into upper stretch, turned away that rival approaching the furlong grounds and drove clear in the late stages. LA POPIS rated nicely off of the solid early pace, tracked from the inside heading to the half-mile pole, saved ground into the turn and was well placed midway through the bend, angled three wide nearing the quarter marker and vied for the lead into upper stretch, was repelled by MADAME GAZELLE heading to the furlong grounds, could not match strides with the winner into the final sixteenth and stayed on late to be second best. STATEFOREST away in good order, settled just off of the early pace and stalked outside of runners heading to the half-mile marker, well placed approaching the turn, stalked the solid pace three to four wide nearing the quarter pole, outkicked into the stretch, could not make headway on the leading pair in deep stretch and held well for third at the finish. THE GREAT HAYNES bobbled at the start and broke slowly, settled off of the solid early pace while not far back, went outside of rivals into the turn, gained ground while four wide approaching the quarter marker, chased five wide into upper stretch, was outkicked at the furlong marker and lacked the needed late response. CLAY'S OPAL INDY allowed to settle early on, trailed into the turn, saved ground heading to the quarter pole and did not threaten in the stretch drive. STANDFORGRIT prominent away from the start, pressed the solid early pace inside of MADAME GAZELLE, disputed the quick pace into the turn, lost position into upper stretch, could not keep pace into the final furlong and faded in the drive. LITTLE LILIANA broke out at the start and was away awkwardly, spotted the field to begin, rushed up in the early stages and chased outside of rivals, went four to five wide along the turn and was not a factor in the stretch drive.
