Chart notes
PAT'S GAMBLE sat alone rating kindly in midfield along the backside, continued a good trip by oneself enjoying the view watching the embattled front trio through the turn, moved in finding a seam four wide to make his presence felt at the top of the stretch, split foes for the lead at the furlong marker and pulled away in the end for the win. SIESTA BEACH tracked the frontrunner outside down the backstretch, closed in the prompt the pace three wide outside at the three eighths marker, continued to inch around rivals on the bend, loomed boldly five wide entering the stretch, could not go with the winner in the final furlong but did stay on impressively for the runners up share at the finish line. COLONEL MUSTARD stalked three deep outside horses, kept pace travelling three to five wide through the turn, swung out widest in the seven path having clear run to the wire and with a strong late surge in the final furlong got up at the wire to win the three way photo for the show money. THE NEW MAYBE assumed the front at the start, was hounded on the inside with a half mile still to go, came under a ride staying just up top between horses with three eighths to go, still was clinking onto a slim advantage in the three path straightening out for the drive, could not fend off runners late and faded in the last sixteenth to settle on the fringes. SECRET THREAT was unhurried trailing on the fence in the early going, [pulled the rider closer into the turn on the rail, shifted outside three wide midpoint around the bend, angled to the six path in range for a share turning for home but could only finish up evenly between foes in deep stretch. PENNER ASH (IRE) stalked near the rear between rivals, made little impression at the back of the pack around the bend, shifted out four wide in the stretch drive and passed a tiring foe down the lane. HEY CUE had a tracking role inside in the beginning, moved in to press the issue at the half on the rail, dueled on the fence up top through the turn, still was in the thick of things inside runners at the top of the stretch but flattened out in the final furlong.
