Chart notes
NEXT ON STAGE broke out at the start and bumped WILD IRIS, chased just off the inside coming under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, angled five wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive rallying between foes near the sixteenth marker, had the innermost of the trio come outwards inside that station and altered slightly out before getting bumped by that rival into TOP OF THE TABLE pushing that foe sideways in the final jumps to the finish and was just up on the wire. TOP OF THE TABLE chased three to four wide under urging from the five-sixteenths, angled six wide into upper stretch, rallied to issue a challenge inside the final furlong, was latched on to a pair inside digging in through the final sixteenth and was bumped askew by NEXT ON STAGE due to pressure from THIRTEEN RED FLAGS coming outwards, got forced to pause and then just missed at the finish. THIRTEEN RED FLAGS vied three wide with a pair of rivals coming under coaxing with five-sixteenths to go, took over command nearing the quarter pole and swung four wide at that station, inched away under a drive to the eighth pole, dug in under threat from a pair and came outwards inside the sixteenth marker when the rider switched his crop from the right to left hand bumping NEXT ON STAGE into TOP OF THE TABLE and was caught by both in the final strides to the finish in a good effort. PAM PAM vied inside a pair of rivals coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, weakened in the late stages. WILD IRIS struck the off side stall at the start and then got bumped by NEXT ON STAGE, chased along the inside and then just off the inside coming under coaxing at the three-eighths, swung three wide into upper stretch, offered up a mild bid but was outkicked. SPIRITUAL LADY coaxed from the gate, vied from the two path between foes under urging from the five-sixteenths, yielded the front near the quarter pole and went three wide into upper stretch, then weakened through to the finish. There was a Stewards' Inquiry focusing on the incident in deep stretch. After review, the result was allowed to stand before the race was declared official.
