Chart notes
HIGHLAND SOCIETY cleared from the outside getting to the rail unchallenged up front along the backside, quickened the tempo on the turn, opened up some more when encouraged right-handed leaving the furlong pole and won by a comfortable margin at the wire. MIA AND ME had a tracking role on the outside watching the pacesetter, travelled three wide outside foes around the bend, edged closer to the leader at the quarter pole to be in the hunt five wide in upper stretch, switched leads a few times down the lane, was no match for the winner late but ended a clear second when crossing the finish line. EXCEED was allowed to settle seeing the field along the backside, made a four wide move circling foes at the three eighths pole, continued outside keeping pace with inside foes on the turn, shifted out widest in the five path in the mix straightening out for the drive and determinedly kept coming down the lane to get up for the third place award just before the wire. LEGAL ATTACK (GB) was under a snug hold tracking the leader inside another runner, chased between foes while under a ride throughout the turn, posed a threat three wide turning for home but faded inside horses in the final seventy yards to be caught at the line for the show money. DRAGON'S BREW settled on the r ail ahead of one runner down the back straight, advanced on the fence in midfield into the turn, waited, sitting behind the winner on the rail on the turn, skimmed the fence to be in range inside at the top of the stretch but was one paced to the wire posing little threat in the late stages. BIG TIME LOUIE tossed his head, bobbled on the start to trail in the beginning, was roused in early backstretch taking closer order outside three deep in the third tier, made little impact again at the rear around the turn, angled out to the four path at the top of the lane and could not factor running to the finish line. TRICKY MAGICIAN was hard held eager between runners in the third flight stalking down the backside, could not make any headway actually being shuffled back a touch through the turn, shifted out three wide for the drive but failed to menace in the stretch running.
