Chart notes
CYCLONE STATE went to the front then showed the way, vied inside on the turn, responded well when asked just inside the five-sixteenths pole, spun off the rail into the stretch, extended the advantage under a drive into the final furlong and proved much the best under steady urging. ICAN stumbled badly at the start and made some contact with a foe, settled off the pace then dropped back with six furlongs to run, was urged along in the three path on the turn, turned into the stretch in the four path, pursued the winner in the drive and willingly earned the place. UNCLE JIM raced for purse-money only, broke in at the start, tracked the pace on the outside, ranged up in the two path on the turn, was roused near the five-sixteenths pole, dropped to the rail into upper stretch, chased the winner into the final furlong and weakened but was clear for the show. CORVUS broke a step slow while making light contact with a rival, was urged along while well behind the rest of the field, saved ground on the turn and was no factor. KAKAO broke out and hit the gate, settled off the pace, dropped back under urging with six furlongs to run, went around the turn in the two then three path and failed to respond. UNCLE JIM RACED FOR PURSE-MONEY ONLY
