Chart notes
BEAVER STATE let the pacesetter cross in front then tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid late on the backstretch, vied in the three path on the turn, took the lead outside the five-sixteenths pole, moved clear at the quarter-pole, responded well under the crop in the stretch and proved much the best under steady urging. HATCH was well placed just off the pace, came under encouragement in the two path on the turn, was guided out in upper stretch, drifted in while still on his inside lead coming to the furlong marker, remained on his inside lead in pursuit of the winner to the finish and was second best. J J'S JOKER broke a step slow, was urged at the rear, angled in near the five-eighths pole, moved from the rail to the three path while gaining late on the turn, was driven into the stretch in the four path, dropped back while remaining on his inside lead into the final furlong, swapped to the proper lead near the sixteenth-pole and weakened but was clear for the show. FORWARD MOVE bumped with a rival at the start, was urged along off the pace, went around the turn in the three path and failed to respond. SCREAMING UNCLE bumped with a rival at the start, moved out under urging near the five-eighths pole, went around the turn in the four path and also failed to respond. PLAY moved in while going to the front then showed the way, vied inside on the turn, lost the advantage outside the five-sixteenths pole and stopped then was eased in the stretch but walked off.
