Chart notes
ROGUE SON coaxed along giving chase from inside, angled four wide around the turn, tipped out further to take aim at the top of the stretch, challenged in upper stretch, drifted in while putting a head front past the eighth pole, continued to drift inward while battling with inner rivals, put DARK MARCUS in tight quarters late and dug in to prevail. EREBUS vied three deep up the backstretch and around the turn, put ahead in front in the stretch, fought gamely inside rivals in the final furlong and was bested by the winner. DARK MARCUS chased well off the rail then went up to vie for the lead four deep, continued to battle in the four path through the turn, fought between rivals into the final furlong, got floated in by ROGUE SON, then put in tight quarters and checked in the final sixteenth. HONEYMOON SUITE head a narrow lead fighting inside a trio of rivals, lost command in upper stretch and weakened in the furlong grounds. THALES vied between rivals to the three-sixteenths pole and weakened. SOUTHERN SLANG broke slow and threw his head at the start, raced up close out wide while in hand early, angled into the three path for the turn, eased out and spun five wide into the lane, stayed within striking distance into the final furlong, then flattened out in deep stretch. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE STRETCH RUN. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS DISQUALIFIED ROGUE SON FROM FIRST TO THIRD FOR DRIFTING IN AND PUTTING DARK MARCUS IN TIGHT QUARTERS LATE, COSTING HIM A CHANCE AT A BETTER PLACING.
