Chart notes
EL DIAMANTE NEGRO broke alertly and assumed early advantage, ceded to NO ORDINARY TIGER and stalked outside of that runner into the first turn, well placed into the backstretch run, tracked the modest fractions heading to the half-mile pole, roused two to three wide into the far turn, vied for the lead at the quarter marker, took command into upper stretch, kicked clear at the furlong marker and drew away late under steady handling. NO ORDINARY TIGER close up in the early stages, was sent to assume command into the first turn, carved out modest fractions while well rated through the backstretch run, showed the way into the second turn, came under pressure at the quarter marker and battled EL DIAMANTE NEGRO into upper stretch, was outkicked at the furlong marker, could not keep pace with the winner into the final sixteenth but stayed on late and was a clear second. CAVIAR COWBOY unhurried in the early going, settled two to three wide into the first turn, tracked the modest pace while widest through the backstretch run, chased three to four wide into the far turn, swung to the five path into upper stretch, could not impact the leading pair into the final sixteenth but stayed on late and was clear of the rest for third. CAPTAIN WILLIS allowed to settle away from the start, saved ground into the first turn, maintained an inside path through the backstretch run and saved all of the ground to the far turn, trailed into upper stretch, angled out at the furlong marker and passed tiring rivals in deep stretch. SWISS LAKER BOY broke in at the start and was a bit slow to begin, recovered and tracked the early pace from the second flight, was a bit wide into the first turn, settled and was well placed while between runners heading to the half-mile pole, chased two wide and between foes into the far turn, could not keep pace at the quarter pole and gave way in the lane. WEBSTER settled off of the early pace while outside of runners, got floated to the four path along the first turn, well placed while widest into the backstretch run, chased four wide into the far turn, was outrun into upper stretch and could not muster a late response. This race was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
