JIM'S HOPE settled in midfield on the rail, closed the gap advancing on the fence at the half, picked up the bit when asked for more with five sixteenths from the wire, shifted outside at the quarter pole to be four wide gathering momentum turning for home and was running on end late to wear the leader in deep stretch for the victory. SOUPER WATSON chased three wide outside of the pacesetter on the first turn, contently sat of the loose leader down the backstretch, moved in on the turn to seize control at the quarter pole, spurted away in upper stretch but needed more late unable to hold of the charge from the winner in the final seventy yards. C MY MEISTER travelled five wide outside at the back of the pack into the first turn, co-trailed inside well back into the backstretch, began to smartly reach for more ground three furlongs out, took closer order going two wide through the far turn to be in the hunt in the three path having the winner to his outside straightening for home, could not sustain the rally and levelled off in the final sixteenth to a clear third at the finish line. CORNWALL stalked near the rear inside, could see the field at the half, was still well back in last at the quarter pole, shifted out three wide turning for home and with a steady and strong stretch rally closed in sharply passing many rivals down the lane to get up for a minor placing while running the best of anyone in the late stages. FAN CLUB stalked in the third flight on the outside, made little progression outside rivals down the back straight, was roused four wide at the quarter pole and in the five path into the lane finished up gradually while passing some rivals in the final furlong. PEJA DU was intent of getting the early lead inside while travelling well of the fence in the first turn, opened up setting a fast pace for today's conditions down the backside, was roused midway around the last turn clinging to the lead, was collared outside at the quarter pole, offered little resistance having little left for the drive and tired between foes in the two path at the furlong marker. DAY TRIPPER had a good spot all alone watching the front two, crept closer while urged for more around the far turn saving all the ground, skimmed the fence to be in the hunt at the top of the lane but came up empty and wilted on the rail in the final furlong. VOLCANIC had a tracking role outside in the second tier in the beginning, settled in mid-division with the field strung out along the backside, was hard ridden but was going in reverse with five sixteenths from home and stopped while four wide in upper stretch.
