Chart notes
MINING DISTRICT showed the way a bit off the rail then along the inside, took pressure from outer rival then moved clear on the backstretch, challenged by MAJESTIC PALISADES past the three-eighths pole, dueled leaving the bend, lost command in upper stretch, dueled into the final furlong, dug in gamely the final fifty yards and edged the runner-up. MAJESTIC PALISADES bumped leaving the gate, stalked from inside, ridden along on the far turn, bid past the three-eighths pole, got floated out at the five-sixteenths pole, took over in upper stretch, carried a short lead over MINING DISTRICT into the furlong grounds, raced on even terms into deep stretch and was outgamed by the winner. BIG GAIN raced up close four then three wide early, chased four deep into the far turn, entered the lane in the five path, could not summon the needed response to make headway on the top pair but churned on to gained the show honors. ARTIST POINT bumped start, stalked two wide then between rivals, moved inside for the far turn, tipped out into the lane, lacked the needed response and lost third to BIG GAIN late. NOTCH tracked three then two wide around the clubhouse turn, went five wide into the second bend, angled to the three path around the turn and failed to menace. FLEET BROTATO pressed from outside for a bit, stalked outside a rival then between foes on the backstretch, lost ground three to four wide on the far turn and weakened. TOPPERS WAGER tracked five then four wide around the clubhouse turn, chased four deep then five deep into the second bend, lost ground and came six wide into the drive and faded down the lane.
