Chart notes
DISSECTOLOGIST seized the front between foes at the start, edged away getting to the rail with three furlongs from home, was hounded, having company outside with a quarter mile remaining, was nursed along still holding up front at the top of the stretch and while kept to the task to the wire continued to keep the outside challenger at bay to the finish line. SPARKLET pressed the issue on the inside in the early going, shifted out entering the turn to chase the pacesetter, moved in to bid outside at the quarter pole, kept on trying in vain down the lane but could not get by a stubborn frontrunner who kept finding more. RED ENSIGN prompted the pace on the outside three deep on the beginning, tracked the lead pair outside at the half, travelled three wide keeping pace just behind the embattled duo at the quarter pole, angled to the four path in range of the dueling twosome at the top of the lane but finished up evenly to be a clear but non-threatening third at the wire. HEY LUIGI was unhurried trailing on the rail down the backside, continued to see the field by many around the bend, found something for the stretch drive, finished up strongly splitting foes in the two path at the furlong marker and got up for a minor placing in the end. TREBUCHET stalked near rear on the outside, offered a mild run outside picking up a runner with five sixteenths to go, shifted out three wide dueling for a minor role in upper but gave way in the last sixteenth of a mile. IMPERIAL STAR travelled in midfield watching the lead trio down the back straight, saved ground but was making little progress on the bend, skimmed the fence turning for home but weakened inside runners in the final furlong.
