Chart notes
RUN OF THE HOUSE showed speed then pressed the pace on the outside, took the lead while in the three then two path on the turn, battled outside of STORMIN SAMMY into the final furlong, got the best of that foe outside the sixteenth-pole and held off the runner-up under strong urging. BERNIE GOES BOOM had the assistant starter in front of the stall on both pontoons when the gate was opened, was obstructed leaving the gate and off a couple lengths slow, raced at the rear under urging, went around the turn in the two then three path, came four wide into upper stretch, rallied outside into the final furlong, swapped back to his inside lead near the sixteenth-pole and closed well but was too late while clear for the place. STORMIN SAMMY tossed his head at the start but broke with the field, moved out while just off the pace near the nine-sixteenths, dropped from the four path to the three path early on the turn, made a bid with three furlongs to run, battled with the winner until inside the furlong marker and weakened whle clear for third. PAPA'S NICO BOY broke in at the start, took the lead inside the three-quarter pole, set the pace under pressure to his outside, vied inside to the two path on the turn, moved out some into upper stretch and tired. VALID CONNECTION was hustled from the gate then urged along off the pace, saved ground on the turn and failed to respond. REGAL ALLIANCE broke in at the start, was urged along on the outside, dropped back leaving the backstretch, went around the turn in the three to four path and faltered then was distanced in the final furlong. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INTO THE START, BERNIE GOES BOOM WAS DECLARED A NON-STARTER DUE TO BEING OBSTRUCTED BY AN ASSISTANT STARTER LEAVING THE GATE
