Chart notes
NEW KING showed early speed four deep then got floated five to six wide early on the first turn, dropped back slightly and angled inward around the bend, moved closer from inside up the backstretch, challenged inside rivals with three furlongs remaining, took over at the five-sixteenths pole, shifted out and bumped TAIF entering the stretch, kicked clear near the three-sixteenths pole and was kept busy to the line. TAIF vied for the lead into the first turn then took control around the bend, set the pace under pressure up the backstretch, vied between rivals on the far turn, relinquished the lead at the five-sixteenths pole, got bumped by NEW KING entering the lane, stayed on through the lane and was clearly second best. EXTENSIVE vied three deep then got floated wide on the first turn, remained close up three deep on the backstretch, pressed the leader from outside at the halfway point, fought three deep on the far turn, got brushed entering the lane, drifted in despite correction from the rider, lost contact with the top pair while continuing to drift in and churned on a for a clear third. TRAVAIL tucked inside off the pace, continued on the fence into the far turn, shifted over to the two path around the bend and never threatened. IMAGINEER broke a step slow, climbed early at the back, saved ground through the far turn and never got involved. EAGLES DARE showed speed between rivals then drifted out on the clubhouse turn, pressed between rivals into the backstretch, chased past the five-eighths pole, lost ground through the far turn, went three wide into the lane and was eased in the drive.
