ANITANEWMERCEDES sent to assume early command, set moderate fractions while off of the rail into the backstretch run, carved out a prompted pace nearing the half-mile pole, battled CARDIFF CRACK into the second turn, drifted out a path into upper stretch, met the bid of ESTABLISHED approaching mid-stretch, could not match strides with the winner into the final sixteenth and held well late for second. ENOS SLAUGHTER tracked the modest early pace from outside of rivals, was well placed into the backstretch run, loomed three to four wide into the far turn, vied for the lead into upper stretch and battled to the furlong marker, could not keep pace with ESTABLISHED into the final sixteenth, was outfinished for second in deep stretch and held clearly in the end for third. CARDIFF CRACK stalked the early pace three wide into the first turn, advanced into the backstretch run and prompted the modest pace heading to the half-mile marker, battled between runners into the second turn, could not keep pace into upper stretch and faded in the stretch drive. EL JOY allowed to settle leaving the start, was guided two to three wide and between runners into the first turn, tracked the modest pace between rivals into the backstretch run, got caught in tight entering the second turn, was shuffled back at the three-eighths marker, trailed into upper stretch and could not muster a late response.
