BROADWAY UNIONS showed the way early in the two path under pressure, vied between rivals on the backstretch and around the second bend, fought inside a trio of rivals into the final furlong, was outkicked but managed to save third. EXCEL CALCULATOR stalked along the rail, coaxed along two, three, then four wide on the far turn, tipped out at the top of the lane to take aim at the leaders, could not summon the needed late kick and got edged for the show honors. MONGOLIAN GOLD bumped at the start, trailed in the two path, saved ground on the fence on the far turn, moved out in the lane, got brushed by KAWAZAKI (IRE) midstretch and failed to make an impact.
