Chart notes
BROOKYS GAL allowed to settle away from the start, tracked the moderate pace outside of rivals heading to the half-mile marker, was well placed while widest approaching the turn, chased four wide nearing the quarter marker, loomed into the stretch and vied for the lead at the eighth pole, took command and drew clear into the final sixteenth, dug in under firm urging in deep stretch and lasted for the win at the wire. UNION COACH tracked the moderate early pace from the second flight, was well placed while three wide and between runners approaching the turn, tracked the pace nearing the quarter marker and gained ground into upper stretch, shifted widest into the final sixteenth, closed fast in deep stretch and just missed for the win, while holding for second. LUSMA was squeezed at the start and was away slowly, allowed to settle in the early stages, saved ground into the turn, waited for racing room nearing the top of the lane, found an opening into upper stretch, rallied along the rail into the final sixteenth and got up for third in deep stretch in a good effort. ROSE OF JERICHO chased the moderate early pace from between runners, got shuffled back approaching the turn, went three wide along the bend then got caught a bit in tight nearing the quarter pole, tipped four wide into upper stretch, rallied into the final sixteenth and missed for third at the wire. EYELIGHT was forwardly placed away from the start, went up and stalked the moderate early pace outside of CATCH N ANGEL, well placed into the turn, chased the pacesetter two to three wide nearing the quarter marker, battled into upper stretch, vied between rivals at the furlong marker, could not find the needed response into the final sixteenth and was outkicked late. CATCH N ANGEL broke in at the start and bothered an inner rival, straightened and was sent to assume early command, set a moderate pace heading to the half-mile marker and dictated terms into the turn, set down into upper stretch, led to the furlong marker, was overtaken past mid-stretch and fought on into the final sixteenth, could not hold off oncoming rivals in deep stretch and yielded in the final stages. FLY A FANTASY bobbled leaving the start and was away a bit slowly, allowed to settle early on, gained ground two wide into the turn, ran evenly to mid-stretch and lacked a final response. BROADWAY TIGER prominent in the early stages, rated off of the moderate pace and saved ground into the turn, well placed nearing the quarter marker, was outkicked into upper stretch and could not muster a late rally.
