Chart notes
FASHIONABLY FAB broke in brushing the inside rival at the start, settled in mid-pack between runners under a tight hold on the first turn, tracked between horses keeping tabs on the lead two down the back straight, was in tight quarters surrounded by foes looking for room at the quarter pole, had a clear path three wide posing the main threat in upper stretch, dueled from the eighth pole home tooth and nail outside and prevailed by a nose at the wire in a thrilling late stretch battle. FORTYFIVESEVENTY assumed the lead in the two path just off the fence going into the initial bend, continued up top narrowly on the inside along the backside setting a soft pace while going in hand, continued to have her head just in front around the last turn, spurted away mildly turning for home, was headed outside by the winner while two wide in upper stretch, fought on tenaciously to the wire inside but just lost by the slimmest of margins at the wire. WAR PAINTER broke out brushing a rival on the start, unhurried seeing the field into the first turn, loped along at the rear three deep down the backside not that far off the leaders, circled four wide around rivals in the far turn, angled out widest with a chance at the top of the stretch outside foes, was no match for the top two who had it to themselves at the sixteenth pole but did finish up strong enough to be a clear third at the finish line. TALK TO YA LATER was nestled on the rail behind the lead pair in the early going on the rail, rated kindly on the fence watching the engaged duo down the backside, waited through the last turn lacking running room on the inside at the quarter pole, had seam skimming the rail at the top of the stretch but lacked a rally inside horses in the final eighth to settle for a minor placing in the end. HURRICANE CLAIR veered out on the break, travelled three wide on the outside watching the lead pair in the first turn, kept a close eye on the front twosome down the backside, edged up three wide between rivals around the last bend, angled out in the mix five wide straightening out for home but failed to fire, posing little threat in the final furlong. TITO'S CALLING hounded the pace on the outside under a snug hold in the three path going around the first of two turns, sat outside off the flank of the leader down the back straight, pressured the frontrunner outside throughout the far turn, shifted out four wide with the tight pack six abreast turning for home, could not quicken with others in upper stretch and wilted between horses at the furlong marker.
