Chart notes

CHARLINA close from start, pressed from the outside backstretch, dueled into the turn, disposed of the other speed by late in the turn, held a sizable advantage past the furlong marker, enough left to hold the runner up at bay late. SMOKE SHOW GIRL lacked early foot, began a steady gain in the three path late in the turn, continued with good resolve to be closing the gap on the winner, well clear of the others. OUR SPECIAL GIFT also well back off the early pace, saved ground into the lane, improved inside of rivals as a result, could do little with the top pair the final furlong, well clear of the othrs. FINE BY DESIGN in the second flight while racing outside, floated out five wide turning for home, lacked a closing response. AIR CASTLE broke well, set or forced the pace for a half along the inside, gave way late in the turn, continued to weaken through the lane. COSMIC CHIC lacked speed while in the three path, improved position slightly while not a real threat. HONDURAS PASSION in the second flight early toward the inside, had little for the drive. SIMPLE DREAMS off step slow, moved up to be closest to the dueling leaders for a half while off the inside, four wide and between horses into the stretch, backed up through the lane. I BE GONE fell back along the inside, a bit rank then got out through the turn, very wide into the stretch, trailed home.
