Chart notes
CURVINO settled off the pace toward the inside, moved closer in the second turn, in some traffic turning for home, split foes in upper stretch, vied past the furlong marker then proved determined to outkick the runner up late. LURED AWAY lacked early foot, moved out three wide when advancing late in the final bend, steered out further to be widest for the drive, challenged late, denied. BROTHER TONY behind the lead pack off the inside, ranged up into a challenging position four wide turning for home, bid a furlong out, not enough for the top two late. HIRED GUN pressed the pace three deep through the first turn, continued to force the issue up the backstretch, challenged three wide through the second turn, put a head in front entering the stretch, continued to hold a slight advantage a furlong out, could not last. WACO broke in good order, with the pace into the first turn inside, continued to hold a narrow advantage the middle half mile, began to falter nearing the furlong grounds. KEVIN'S STRIKE in mid pack and off the inside, bit closer four wide turning for home, lacked a further advance. SURFIN' M pressed the issue up front for six furlongs while between horses, gave way from between horses turning for home. JUTE BOX last away, trailed throughout and was never involved.
