ROI SOLEIL was jostled between runners at the start, recovered to have a good position all alone watching the engaged lead trio down the backside, made a sharp move with a quick turn of foot at the quarter pole inside runners, shifted out three wide posing the main opposition straightening out for home, was full of run taking the lead with a sixteenth to go and drew off for the win in deep stretch. YACHT BOY stalked near the back between rivals, commenced a rally four wide with horses on either side at the quarter marker, was in the thick of things in the five path at the top of the lane, closed in well down the stretch, could not get to the winner late but did come on to garner the runners up share in the final seventy yards. HE SHOOTS HE WINS seized control from the onset, edged clear by the half, moved well loose up top through the turn, still maintained the front in the two path at the top of the lane, finished up on the wrong lead to the wire, had no answer when the winner swept past inside the furlong pole and faded late to settle for the show money. THE NEW MAYBE pressed between runners early on, chased the frontrunner at the half, was hard ridden but could not reel in the leader midway around the bend, angled out four wide holding for the show award between foes in upper stretch and dug in late to save for a minor placing in the end. COLONEL MUSTARD tossed his head on the break trailing at the start, made no movement well back at the rear throughout the turn, shifted two wide for the drive to the wire, began to extend his stride smartly at the furlong pole, was gaining on rivals late but could not pose a threat at the finish line. COOLER MAN co-trailed on the outside at the half, closed the gap three wide making a strong move around foes in the turn, angled out six wide in range for a share in upper stretch, could not sustain the rally by the furlong marker and evened out late. ADELAIDE COURT prompted the pace three deep in the beginning, tracked outside at the half, was roused three wide but was going the wrong way at the three eighths pole, angled out in the four path for the drive but came up empty in the stretch running.
