Chart notes
SOUTH BEND TOM bumped with an inner rival soon after the start, tracked closest to the clear leader and from the three to two path, closed in to bid outside of that tiring rival while shifting out to the four path in upper stretch, drove clear shortly after and held sway from an inner pursuer. RAGNOW laid off of the pace in the two path, brushed an outer rival while moving between horses into the far turn, ran on to claim place in midstretch, took aim inside of the clear leader entering the final sixteenth but was kept at bay. GRAND ACADEMIC was slow into stride, trailed in the three path, picked up stride moving to the five path entering the lane, fanned wider in upper stretch, rallied to vie for show with an inner rival in midstretch and gained that position at the sixteenth pole. RAISING KANE bumped with an outer rival soon after the start, pursued from midpack in the two path before shifting out to the four path around the first turn, brushed with an inner rival into the far turn, chased three deep turning for home, shifted out to the seven path in upper stretch, got bested for show by an outer foe in the final furlong and lacked a bid. REIGNITE pursued from midpack tucking from the three path to the inside around the first turn, chased around the far turn and faded. ROYAL COACH brushed the inner stall door upon leaving the gate before bumping simultaneously with rivals on each side shortly after, sped clear and opened up a wide advantage in the two path around the first turn, tired as rivals closed in entering the lane, was caught by an outer bidder at the three sixteenths pole and readily stopped while hanging on his left lead.
