MAGIC EIGHT BALL went to the front, set the pace under pressure to her outside, moved clear near the nine-sixteenths pole, went around the turn near the rail, responded well when asked in the two path into upper stretch, drew off under the crop to the furlong marker, widened while kept to the task under a hand-ride into the final sixteenth then was geared down while much the best. PATTY VAN TWINKLE pressed the pace on the outside of the leader, dropped back near the nine-sixteenths pole, chased in the two to three path on the turn, pursued the winner under a drive in upper stretch and proved no match while clear for the place. SHE'S COOL angled out early then dropped in early on the backstretch, moved closer around the nine-sixteenths pole, saved ground under urging on the turn and weakened while best of the rest. SAUCY SIX was urged along off the pace, went around the turn in the two to three path, turned into upper stretch in the five path and came up empty. LADY ARWEN settled off the pace, was urged along passing the five-eighths pole, went around the turn in the two path and failed to respond. DUSK broke out a bit, settled at the rear on the outside, was urged along while dropping from the three path to the rail on the turn and also failed to respond. DIAMOND STATUS stalked the pace on the outside, dropped back under urging near the nine-sixteenths pole, fell further back while moving from the two path to the four path on the turn, spun into upper stretch in the six path and faltered.
