Chart notes
CHUCK WILLIS (IRE) coaxed from the gate, established the front with five and a half furlongs to run and showed the way in hand along the inside, came under pressure from a quartet stacked across the track three furlongs from home and got placed to coaxing in response nearing the quarter pole, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, edged away under a drive holding well and clear to the finish. HATCH chased along the inside under a ride from the three-eighths, swung three wide into upper stretch, ran on to secure the place honors. HE'S IN CHARGE coaxed from the start, chased two then three wide under urging from the five-sixteenths, tipped four wide into upper stretch, kept on through to the finish. COMMERCE COMET broke out at at the start and was corrected, chased five wide coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, continued five wide at that station, weakened in the final furlong. G MUNNING leapt at the start getting away last and conceding two to three lengths to the front, chased two to three wide down the backstretch and then just off the inside through the turn coming under coaxing at the seven-sixteenths, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, made no impact. MISTER J T chased four wide under encouragement from the three-eighths, angled six to seven wide into upper stretch, tired.
