Chart notes
MARCH OF TIME was closest in pursuit of the leader up the backstretch, gained under urging from the two path on the turn, raced on even terms into the lane, took over in upper stretch, put inner rival away with a furlong left to run and was ridden out to the wire. SANTARENA chased from inside off the pace, eased out and came three wide into the stretch, finished well in the drive to gain second but could not reach the winner. PURSUIT OF FREEDOM sprinted clear and set the pace in the early going, steered to the inside, pressured by MARCH OF TIME past the quarter pole, yielded to that rival outside the eighth pole, drifted in a bit shortly after and weakened. SAND BAGGER dropped back under coaxing, rounded the bend in the three path and was never a factor. MR. MUSTACHE hopped at the start to lose a couple lengths, climbed briefly while trailing early, saved ground inside a rival on the turn and could not make an impact.
