SHORTLIST shifted in heading into the first turn settling toward the rear, advanced on the far turn still inside foes, angled seven wide leaving that bend, continued to gain outside in deep stretch but was too late. MISCHIEF'S MACHINE was forwardly-positioned but caught four wide into the first turn, dropped back off the leader to stalk from outside, moved to challenge leaving the far turn still four deep, took a brief narrow lead in upper stretch but proved no match for the top pair. HE GOTS TO GO settled three wide off the early pace, fanned eight wide under urging turning for home, kept on late to improve. GRAND DESIGN exchanged minor contact entering the first turn, moved clear soon after to dictate terms, raced near the inside, was challenged turning for home and faded. KENTUCKY PEERLESS broke through the gate pre-race, got away well, exchanged minor contact between foes into the first turn, eased back off the leader to stalk, was mostly three wide, encouraged along past the five-sixteenths in behind and in range, lacked the needed late bid. FABLED RULER lacked early speed racing off the inside part of the track, passed tired foes in the stretch. COOL QUARTET moved out from three to five wide on the first turn racing toward the back, was carried out nine deep turning for home, faded. NO COST angled in heading into the first turn to save ground racing mid-pack, readily dropped back early, failed to threaten. MAX PANDOWDY bumped with a foe into the first turn at the front of the field, dropped back off that one but continued to chase racing not too far back, steadily retreated. NILES CHANNEL tossed the head and bobbled nearly losing the rider at the start, was always back and never a factor.
