Chart notes
SCIPIO was closest in pursuit three then two wide, drew alongside the pacesetter on the far turn, put a head in front exiting the bend, put away inner rival while being confronted by MUSCLED in upper stretch, dug in under left then right handed urging and held gamely. MUSCLED raced in range three then two wide, continued in the two path to the far turn, took aim three wide approaching the stretch, latched onto SCIPIO at the top of the lane, drifted out a bit in deep stretch and was turned away. CATCH THE BREEZE was rank between rivals early then moved inside, sat off the pace through the early going, ran into mild traffic midway around the far turn, altered three wide approaching the quarter pole, got moved out a bit entering the lane, showed late effort and gained third. DETTORI brushed leaving the gate, traveled three then two wide around the clubhouse turn, settled in mid-pack, chased outside a rival around the far turn, tipped out into the lane and finished evenly late. STARGELL raced towards the rear in the three path, traveled along the rail then shifted over to the two path on the far turn, summoned a mild rally in the lane but needed to find more. POWER PLAY steered to the two path and laid off the pace, ridden along two then three wide on the second bend, drifted in the lane and improved position. PAARL stalked two wide then along the rail, tipped off the fence a bit entering the lane and faded. TARIFF tracked two wide then found the rail, came under a ride approaching the quarter pole, lacked room from the eighth pole to the sixteenth marker, moved out a bit to a clear path and could not regain momentum. LUCKY CHOICES tucked inside near the back, asked around the far turn while saving ground, altered out from behind rivals in deep stretch and was never a factor. WAR TO REMEMBER took control from inside, led in the two path then back on the rail early, took pressure on the far turn, lost the lead entering the stretch and folded in the final furlong. SAWTOOTH BOW broke a step slow and bumped with inner rival, trailed two wide then along the rail and never got involved.
