Chart notes
INNOVATOR broke sharp, showed the way up the backstretch, bit of a breather through the turn, responded when the winner came alongside in upper stretch, edged away a bit nearing the furlong marker, found more late when confronted again and dug in to narrowly prevail. DREAMINBLUE came in just after the start to bother JUST CLASSIC, was straightened in racing off the early pace, advanced steadily three to four wide through the turn, bid into the lane, lost some ground to the winner, got back to that one late, dueled, missed. SHEPHERD broke back, lacked early foot inside, moved out a bit late in the turn, came running late to be well clear for the show. JUST CLASSIC steadied just after the start when in tight, void of speed, three wide through the turn, improved position through the stretch without posing a serious threat. CARIBBEAN DREAM chased the winner in the three path for a half and then faltered in the drive. KAVANAUGH off the and the rail early, dropped to the rail turn, failed to menace. NASTINATE raced briefly forward and toward the inside, faded. EIGHT SEVEN MAGIC fell back after the start, trailed to be always outrun;.
