Chart notes
TIDAL FORCES laid up close in the four path, bid two wide rounding the far turn, took command passing the quarter, was roused from the two path into the lane, drew clear passing the eighth mark, and held safe. NAVY CROSS had an awkward start, rated in the five path, was ridden in the four path around the far turn, swung form the five path into the stretch, and ran on for place. ICELANDER was keen to lead early around the first turn, got taken back to lay in range from the three path down the backstretch, but flattened down the lane. BAY STREET MONEY tracked in the four path but was no factor. K. C. CHIEF was pushed along around the first turn to set the pace in the three path down the backstretch, driven along the inside into the far turn, but faded in the stretch. GRANDE SOIREE hit the gate leaving, raced off the pace in the three path but never menaced.
