Chart notes
TOOTALOO KANGAROO was away alertly and ridden along to get to the front to set the pace while clear in the two path, then was well handled on the turn and roused leaving the turn and then given a pop left handed leaving the furlong marker while drawing off to prove much the best. WARRIOR'S DEFENSE prompted and then stalked the winner three wide on the turn, proved to be no match for that rival while saving the place award. CHARISSE was squeezed back at the break, settled back early, advanced on the turn and came three wide off the turn and had a late rally to just miss the place award. INDEPENDENCE WAY tracked the early pace two wide, moved out to try to make a four wide bid by the quarter pole but weakened in the drive. QUIT QUAY was reserved early, three wide on the turn and came five wide into the lane and had no rally. TELEPHONE LINE chased the early pace and was two wide on the turn and weakened. EDGE OF TOWN tracked the pace along the inside and weakened. FIRST FORAY was settled on the outside and tired.
