Chart notes
GIROOVIN chased five to six paths off the inside down the backstretch and then four wide through the turn coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, went seven wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command a furlong out, drew clear under a drive to prevail. COMMERCE COMET chased four then three wide coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, went seven wide into upper stretch, kicked on belatedly to the finish. NATURAL HARBOR coaxed from the start, chased six paths off the inside down the backstretch in aim of the front and then four wide through the turn, went six wide into upper stretch, kept on to secure the show honors. SMILE MON brushed the near side stall at the start, chased along the inside down the backstretch before heading four wide through the turn coaxed along from the three-eighths, went eight wide into upper stretch and improved position to the finish. CRITICAL THREAT coaxed from the gate, prompted the pace three then two wide before taking over the front with seven-sixteenths to go, came under coaxing near the quarter pole and swung three wide for home, dug in under threat and was caught a furlong out, weakened through to the finish. MONTEBELLO three wide in pursuit, came under encouragement at the seven-sixteenths, went seven to eight wide into upper stretch, made no impact. DOT'S DOLLAR coaxed from the gate, chased five then three wide in aim of the front coming under urging near the quarter pole, went four wide into upper stretch and tired. FOR SOME REASON showed the way early on from the two path under pressure from a pair, tucked inside into the turn and yielded the front with seven-sixteenths to go, faded through the latter portion of the turn and went three to four wide into upper stretch, got placed to a protective hold and was eased up through the stretch to a walk well behind, then walked off under his own power.
