Chart notes
SUPERSONIC BLUE set the pace between rivals, cleared at the seven-sixteenths pole, drew away on the turn, remained clear into the final furlong and held safely under urging. CAJUN GOLD broke a step slow and bumped with inner rival, chased two wide into the turn, drifted out a bit early on the bend, corrected and moved back into the two path, drifted out in upper stretch and rallied for second. SOI NGERN pressed the pace inside a pair of rivals, lost contact with the leader leaving the backstretch, hugged the rail to the stretch, finished willingly down the lane and got outkicked for second. SMILING TIZZY hit the gate to lose a step, raced off the rail towards the back then angled in, moved into the two path at the quarter pole, shifted out into the lane, angled in while closing and rounded out the superfecta. TOUGHNESS brushed by outer rival at the start, showed speed then ceded command to outer rivals, gained two then three wide around the bend and flattened out in the final sixteenth. SPRINGS broke a bit slow and inward, trailed to the half-mile pole then had one rival beat into the turn, rounded the bend two then three wide, got floated out into the lane and failed to menace. GENERAL JACKSON took hold early near the inside, saved ground through the turn, ran into traffic briefly entering the lane and was not persevered with in deep stretch. UNIQUE POWER pressed three deep early, chased two wide into and around the bend, then tired down the lane. POP PAUL coaxed along while off the pace, went three then four wide around the bend, came out past the quarter pole and was never a factor.
