Chart notes
DOWNTOWN CONNECTOR reserved off the pace for the first half mile, made a steady advance approaching the far turn, split rivals rallying near the quarter pole, kept grinding down the lane to wear down the leaders and surged nearing the wire to prevail. THRU THE VINE set a slow pace while well rated for the first five-eighths, surrendered the lead on the final bend, re-rallied in the lane to regain the lead in deep stretch and was caught in the final strides. ONE TEN prompted the pace for a half, took command on the far turn openeing a clear lead and weakened late in the lane. ROSE'S PEPINO raced wide into the first turn, drobbed to the rear of the field down the backside and showed some late interest with a belated, non-impactful stretch rally. ATKINS stalked the leaders from eight wide down the backstretch and failed to respond when called upon for a closing bid. ROYAL DRAGOON went evenly failing to menace. GROUP EIGHTEEN was restless in the gate nearly laying down prior to the break, straightened away to race mid-pack, made a middle move to be close up down the backstretch and gave way coming home. CANDY INVASION chased the leaders to the far turn and faded.
