Chart notes
JOHN HANCOCK , a bit antsy in the gate just prior to the start, hopped at the break, quicky recovered and accelerated to a clear lead after a furlong, rated kindly off the inside, was unfazed by a looming outer foe approaching the stretch, spurted away after being roused soon after, kept on while given a couple of right handed taps past mid stretch then cruised home through the final seventy yards. MAD HOUSE broke outward brushing a rival, corrected and rushed up between foes with a nice turn of foot, prompted the pace three wide outside the winner, took closer order under a hustling ride past the quarter pole, wandered out to about the five path before straightened then stayed on with good energy to be well clear of the rest. FIRST ACT , four to five wide with strong pursuit, kept on trying to the wire but was no match for the top pair. TROOPS broke outward, moved up four wide and to the inside of a rival mid turn, shifted wider for the drive and churned on. AMERICAN DIRECTION saved ground in range of the leaders, was under a ride staying in touch past the three sixteenths, failed to go on past mid stretch and faded. NEOTERIC , brushed at the break, was urged along two to three wide but came up empty. MR. SWEETS , brushed at the break, was squeezed back from between runners soon after, shifted out in the drive but failed to menace. HONOR THE BULL , brushed at the break, saved ground nearing the turn but failed to menace. NYDINI , four to five wide, was not a factor. THE HOPE TRAIN , brushed at the break, was outrun.
