Chart notes
COOL QUARTET tracked in the four path, bid into the far turn, vied with an inner rival while turning for home in the three path, dueled while getting floated to the five path in upper stretch, forged an advantage while hanging on his left lead as an outer rival took aim in midstretch and held sway late. MISCHIEF'S MACHINE stalked along the inside, loomed a danger behind the top pair around the far turn, tipped outside of them and to the five path in upper stretch, progressed gradually to bid at the furlong grounds but hung and was kept at bay through the late stages. DESOTO'S WAR showed the way in the two path, vied with an outer bidder around the far turn, dueled while drifting out to the three path in upper stretch, but hung on his left lead and got bested. HE GOTS TO GO broke a step slow, raced off of the pace in the three to two path and moved up. KENTUCKY PEERLESS stalked in the three path and between horses, chased around the far turn, floated out to the six to seven path in upper stretch and gave way. FABLED RULER broke a step slow, trailed in the four to two path into the backstretch, took the far turn in the three path before swinging to the seven path into the lane, and failed to factor. HALEYS SAILOR pursued from midpack in the two to three path, but faded along the inside around the far turn.
