Chart notes
PRINCE RAMA vied for the early lead from between rivals, was sent to assume command and set a decent pace heading to the half-mile pole, showed the way into the turn and led while off of the rail nearing the quarter marker, was set down into upper stretch and drew clear at the furlong grounds, kept to task under firm hand-urging into the final sixteenth and held sway in the late stages. IN THE ARCH settled off of the decent early pace while never far back, improved position three to four wide nearing the quarter marker, rallied four to five wide into the stretch, continued his sustained run into the final sixteenth, could not impact the winner in deep stretch and closed well late to earn the place honors. WEIRD YEAR tracked the decent early pace from the inside, saved ground into the turn and chased to the quarter pole, mounted an inside rally into the lane and came within aim at the furlong marker, could not match strides with the winner into the final sixteenth and was outkicked late for the place honors, while holding clearly in the end for the show. AFTER FIVE disputed the decent early pace from outside of rivals, engaged PRINCE RAMA into the turn and pressed the pacesetter two to three wide nearing the quarter marker, was repelled into upper stretch and faded in the drive. JOHNNY APPLESEED was crowded at the start and broke a bit slowly, allowed to settle in the early stages, was caught in tight approaching the turn and checked at the three-eighths pole, chased two wide into upper stretch and gained at the furlong marker, could not sustain that run into the final sixteenth and flattened out. AFFECTIONTO AUTISM chased the decent pace from outside of rivals, well placed into the turn, ran in pursuit three to four wide nearing the quarter marker, lost position into upper stretch and tired in the final furlong. SUPREME CAPO forwardly placed to begin, took back and tracked the decent pace heading to the turn, took the path of JOHNNY APPLESEED at the three-eighths marker, chased from the rail nearing the quarter pole and did not threaten in the stretch drive.
