CHASING LIBERTY prominent early, saved ground to the first turn then assumed command, set moderate fractions while well handled through the backstretch run, set a pressured pace to the quarter marker, battled CURAHEE into the stretch, repelled that rival at the furlong marker then drew away late under hand urging. CURAHEE was forwardly placed while between runners into the first turn, advanced into the backstretch run and prompted the moderate pace outside of CHASING LIBERTY heading to the half-mile, battled into upper stretch, was repelled at the furlong grounds, could not keep pace with the winner into the final sixteenth an was a clear second best. PERRY COUNTY rated off of the early pace while never far back, settled two wide and between rivals into the first turn, tracked three wide into the backstretch run, chased the leading pair two wide nearing the quarter marker, outkicked into the stretch, was no match for the top pair into the final sixteenth and held safely late for the show honors. TREVAGGIO took back off of the early pace, was a bit keen while three wide and between runners nearing the first turn, settled into the backstretch run, tracked three wide heading to the half-mile pole, chased to the quarter marker, passed tiring rivals into the stretch and needed more in the late stages. BROOKLYN ALLEY CAT allowed to settle, saved ground into the first turn, tracked the moderate pace two wide and between foes heading to the half-mile, raced in traffic into the second turn, found room into the stretch and lacked the needed response. ROUSTABOUT sent to assume early command, drifted to the three path into the first turn then lost the lead into the backstretch run, tracked the moderate pace three wide nearing the half-mile marker, was outrun to the quarter pole and gave way in the lane. GUNNY HIGHWAY unhurried in the early going, was content to trail into the backstretch run, trailed to the quarter pole and did not factor in the stretch drive. MY WIFE IS RIGHT settled just off of the early pace then saved ground into the first turn, raced close up to the moderate pace while saving ground through the backstretch run, ran in pursuit into the far turn, was outrun to the top of the lane and tired in the final furlong.
