Chart notes
SKY SAILING hustled forward from the break then went three wide through the clubhouse turn, sat just off the pace set by the HOT BETTY, set down after that one from the three furlong pole, was struggling to make up ground the rough the turn then surged to the lead when that rival weakened in the stretch, drew off and won as the rider pleased in the end. HOT BETTY got bumped by UPTOWN RHAPSODY at the break but was otherwise quick from the gate and went clear early with the rider taking a tight hold in an attempt to temper the pace, was let loose with a half-mile to run and opened up on the turn while being pursued by SKY SAILING, led into the stretch then weakened passing the furlong marker but had built a big enough margin to hold the second spot. R B'S TIGER was up with the leaders while saving ground through the early stages, was unable to go on with the top pair after passing the three furlong pole, went into a drive and kept to task and was able to hold third. MARK OF VICTORY lagged well off the pace through the early stages racing two to three paths away from the rail, launched a tepid bid three wide on the far turn, ran on and was able to improve late. LADY YELLOWSTONE settled inside in the middle of the well strung out field, was asked to go on with three furlongs to run, kept to task and held position. SPORTY NUGGET kept to the rail from the break but settled behind the developing pace battle, had little to offer in the stretch. INTRUSIVE ceded the pace going into the first turn and tucked in to the two path, raced two deep in the third flight through the early stages, was under a drive passing the three furlong marker but was not responding. POCKET KNIFE was not asked for speed from the break and settled at the back of the field along the rail, was under heavy pressure from the quarter pole but had nothing to offer in the stretch. UPTOWN RHAPSODY veered out and took up after the break, was last into the first turn, dropped far behind early, went unnecessarily wide on the last run and eased before the stretch and driven off the track in the equine ambulance.
