Chart notes
CORNISHMAN lost the path at the start when YOU'RE THE CAUSE came over at the break then went five wide into the first bend, settled far back but on the rail through the first half-mile, advanced into contention on the far turn, tipped out to the two path at the top of the stretch finished well under steady handling and intermittent urging and was up in time. SURPRSINGLYPERFECT slow into stride from the break, had to be coaxed early to avoid losing contact, stayed in the clear four wide down the backstretch then bid between horses on the far turn, found running room along the rail in the stretch, rallied, had the lead in deep stretch but lost a head bob to the resurgent CORNISHMAN at the wire. OWHATARUSH made the lead into the first turn then set solid fractions, opened up on the far turn, was clear passing the furlong marker then faltered inside the final sixteenth. ARREST broke well, was content to settled well off the pace, started to advance heading to the far turn, bid four wide through the turn and into the stretch and was able to hold position. CREATIVE BID was pushed to get forward position going into the first turn then backed off a developing speed duel, tracked behind the leading pair to the half-mile pole, responded when sent after the lead from the seven-sixteenths, loomed three wide into the stretch then flattened out. BIRTH OF COOL hustled to the lead into the first turn then ceded the lead to OWHATARUSH, stalked that one down the backstretch then was sent to challenge with three furlongs to run but could not get to the leader and weakened in the stretch. YOU'RE THE CAUSE veered out at the start into the path of CORNISHMAN, lacked early speed, tried to launch a bid with three furlongs to run, came three wide into the stretch but could not make an impact. MY MAN BIGGIE and was slow to get going, then settled near the back of the field racing three wide, moved a bit closer down the backstretch then was unable to keep up approaching the three furlong pole and trailed the field home from that point.
