Chart notes
COWBOY KISSES was away in good order and was always close to the front, stalked the solid early pace three wide to the turn, went up and dueled DON JUAN BUBBA along the bend, made a quick move to take command into upper stretch then drew clear at mid-stretch, kept to task under moderate hand urging into the final sixteenth and drew away late to be much the best. PEDAL TO THE METAL settled off of the early pace then saved ground into the turn, was well placed nearing the top of the stretch and continued his steady advance to mid-stretch, could not match strides with the winner into the final sixteenth and got up for the place at the wire. WINNING BIG settled just off of the solid early pace, tracked four wide along the turn then swung five wide into upper stretch, lacked the needed response in the drive but stayed on late and just missed for the place, while just getting up for the show. NOW N LATER GATOR hopped at the start and was off slowly, lacked early speed, chased two to three wide into upper stretch and gained at the furlong marker, flattened out in the final sixteenth and was outfinished for the minor awards. PASSION OF JOE'S showed good speed away from the start and assumed early command, pressed the pace between rivals into the turn, lost position at the quarter pole then chased into upper stretch, could not find more into the stretch drive then faded late. DON JUAN BUBBA hard sent away from the start, pressed the early pace from the inside then assumed command into the turn, set a pressured pace to the quarter pole, chased the winner to mid-stretch then tired in the final sixteenth. SCOPELLO stumbled at the start and was away slowly, rushed up while pulling on the rider and chased the pace to the turn, ran in pursuit three to four wide to the quarter pole, could not keep pace in the stretch drive then came up empty in the late stages.
