Chart notes
JIM BOB prominent away from the start, stalked the solid pace three wide and between foes heading to the turn, pressed the pace to the quarter marker then chased ARIUS into the stretch, closed determinedly into the final sixteenth, wore down ARIUS in deep stretch and was up in time to prevail. ARIUS hopped then broke in at the start and was off slowly, rushed up along the rail in the early stages and contested the pace into the turn, disputed solid fractions to the quarter marker, drifted out a path into upper stretch then gained command and led to the furlong marker, dug in while all out into the final sixteenth, was caught by the winner in deep stretch then held for the place at the wire. DORADUS was pinched at the start then was away slowly, rushed up along the inside early on, saved ground and tracked the pace to the quarter marker, rallied along the rail into the stretch, was caught in tight and altered course in the final sixteenth and missed for the win and place, while holding safely for the show. ROYAL CURLIN rated off of the early pace, tracked three to four wide and between runners into the turn, was gaining in the stretch drive but could not reel in the leaders in deep stretch. GRAZED BY LOVE allowed to settle in the early going, tracked the pace from the second flight heading to the turn, chased four to five wide into the stretch and offered a mild late rally. RACER REX close up while four deep in the early going, pressed the pace four wide along the turn, battled into upper stretch then weakened in the final furlong. BRAINIAC broke out at the start then bothered a neighboring rival, tracked the pace two wide and between runners into the turn then failed to threaten in the stretch drive. TRACK ROBBER showed good early speed away from the start, assumed command and set the pace to the turn, was pressured to the quarter marker while between foes, lost position into the stretch then faded. THE RIDER OF ARIUS LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST THE RIDER OF JIM BOB FOR INTERFERENCE IN UPPER STRETCH. THE STEWARDS DISALLOWED THAT OBJECTION AND RULED THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE TO THE ORDER OF FINISH.
