Chart notes
GOLDEN GRIT got shuffled back at the start and spotted the field a head start, was patiently ridden while pulling the rider into contention before the turn, became stuck behind horses late on the turn and into the stretch, tried to squeeze through a narrow opening in upper stretch, bumped with TIZABLING then drifted back into that foe under left handed urging, managed to get clear in the final yards to prevail. RING SEEKER broke well and dueled with MIKEL W through the initial stages, stayed lapped on that rival through the turn, put a head in front at the top of the stretch and finished well but could not hold off the winner late. TIZABLING broke a step slow but rushed up to join the leaders, bid four wide through the turn and into the stretch, lugged in making light contact with GOLDEN GRIT, then was forced out a path in mid-stretch by that same rival, finished evenly to gain and hold a clear third. MIKEL W broke well and contested the early pace from the inside, put a head in front before the half while under a firm hold, came under pressure at the top of the stretch, finished willingly but was outkicked in the final yards. DR SKYSCRAPER pressed the pace three wide then dropped out in the middle of the turn, came back on a bit under steady urging but was outrun in the stretch. BERRY MISCHIEVOUS broke in at the start and made light contact with GOLDEN GRIT, then backed out of a developing pace duel, dropped to last then chased the rest through the turn, started to come back on leaving the five-sixteenths pole, finished with some interest under a steady drive and urging but was not good enough. COMPETITIVE SHOCK broke a couple of lengths behind, tracked inside close up to the turn then struggled to keep up in the late stages.
