Chart notes
GET RIPPED got a good stalking position right behind the pace, was patiently ridden through the turn then tipped out to the two path at the top of the lane, responded when cued to go on, wore down CHARMING OAKIE on the lead and went clear in the end. CHARMING OAKIE showed good speed from the break and got to the front, led the field through the turn, pulled clear with GET RIPPED into the stretch, gave way grudgingly to that foe in mid-stretch and saved the place well clear of the next horse. WILL TAKE CASH rushed up to put pressure on CHARMING OAKIE on the front end and stalked that rival through the turn, came under a ride from the quarter pole, was unable to find a wining kick but was kept to task down the stretch and won the battle for third. LEMON MERINGUE raced in cover in the middle of the tightly bunched field through the early stages, waited for some racing room on the turn, responded when set down in the stretch under strong handling and intermittent urging but was not good enough. WAYLON'S GUITAR was forwardly placed early but four wide, got a little closer to the front on the turn, came four wide into the stretch and finished with good energy but could not find the winning kick. TI CAILLOU was outrun from the break and at the back of the compact field down the backstretch, kept to the inside through the turn then tipped out to the two path and finished evenly. PRETTY MACHO broke well and was briefly up with the leaders, then dropped back to last before the turn, chased under a drive into the stretch and finished with some late interest to pass a few in the stretch. KENTUCKY DREAMIN lunged at the start and spotted the field a bit of a head start, advanced to the middle of the pack before the turn, held position under a ride on the turn then was put to stronger encouragement in the stretch but could not improve. KANGAROO COAST raced five to six wide through the early stages, four wide through the turn, swung six wide into the stretch but could not threaten. HIGH RANSOM was floated wide after the break by KANGAROO COAST, was five to six wide for the entire trip and was not a factor.
