EL DE LARRY clear first turn, set the pace along the inner rail, was challenged on his outside by FUN LOVIN CRIMINAL near the sixteenth pole, dug in tenaciously but brushed and herded out FUN LOVIN CRIMINAL in the late going. FUN LOVIN CRIMINAL brushed with RHUMJAR leaving the starting gate, stalked the pace down the backstretch, swung to the four path at the head of the stretch, bid for the lead near the sixteenth pole, finished gamely and was impeded late. DOLICE VITA stalked the pace along the inner rail, moved to the two path turning for home, was well positioned in mid stretch and weakened. YODEL E. A. WHO chased the pace from the two path to the stretch then weakened. RHUMJAR brushed with FUN LOVIN CRIMINAL leaving the starting gate, was four deep down the backstretch, failed to be a factor, moved to the inner rail turning for home and gave way. DIVINE ARMOR , outrun, was eased late. Following a stewards' inquiry and an objection by the rider of FUN LOVIN CRIMINAL, EL DE LARRY was disqualified and placed second.
