Chart notes
BOBBY BRINKLEY came away well and was content to track behind the lone pacesetter two wide to the half, launched a bid approaching the quarter pole, took a short lead int o the stretch, was beset by challengers to the inside and outside but held gamely under strong handling to narrowly prevail in a thrilling finish. BRUCELEA settled at the back on the rail through the early running, launched a bid with three furlongs to run, tipped out to the three path for the stretch run finished up well under steady handling and urging but could not get by the winner. COUNTRY CAPER came away in good order and secured the inside position, raced mid-pack down the backstretch then tipped three wide in the stretch, surged to the front and finished strong but came up short in a blanket finish. HOLD MY BEER BRO showed good speed and inherited the early lead, was left to set the pace, took the field to the stretch then was overtaken, finished evenly. WISH MAN last to the first turn, settled near the back of the field and lacked a late bid. CRAZY RIDGE was held up from the break then settled mid-pack under some restraint early, bided time down the backstretch, made a mild move on the inside through the ear turn, then did not respond when set down in the stretch and finished evenly. RODEO CHAMP was prominent early then started to back up on the far turn and had little to offer in the stretch.
