RUNNIN' RAY settled off the pace, moved to the outside with six furlongs to run, was roused in the three then four path on the turn, rallied to get the lead at the three-sixteenths pole, kicked clear under a right-handed crop outside the furlong marker, extended the advantage inside that marker, drifted in after being given one final pop of the crop outside the sixteenth-pole, raced a solid hand-ride until the final strides then was put to lighter encouragement while much the best. ALTERNATE REALITY settled off the pace, moved in nearing the five-eighths pole, shifted from the rail to the two path early on the turn, moved to the four path near the three-eighths pole, shifted to the five path late on that bend and narrowly earned the place while no match for the winner. MARGIN OF AIR was urged along on the outside then forwardly placed, chased in the four then three path on the turn, made a bid outside the quarter-pole, raced between horses in upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and proved no match for the winner then just lost the place while clear for the show. MAGNOLIA MIDNIGHT went to the front, set the pace under pressure to his outside, moved to a solo lead near the nine-sixteenths pole, was asked while inside on the turn, lost the advantage to the winner in upper stretch and gave way. SEEKING UNITY was well placed just off the pace, chased inside to the two path on the turn, dropped back in the three path into the stretch, drifted out late and tired. GUN IT pressed the pace on the outside, chased late on the backstretch, moved from the three path to the two path on the turn, remained on his inside lead in the drive and came up empty.
