Chart notes
COMFORT J BYRD tracked the early pace from the outside, well placed into the turn, bid three to four wide into the lane, battled to mid-stretch, shook free then kept to task late and held safely over the oncoming runner-up. LOVESUNFAIR a bit slow into stride away from the start, lagged in the early going, was roused three wide and between runners at the three-eighths pole, swung further out at the quarter marker then mounted a five wide rally into the stretch, closed willingly into the final sixteenth, could not reel in the winner late and was second best. WATTS prominent early, tracked the decent pace while saving ground into the turn, angled three to four wide into upper stretch, was no match for the top pair late and bested the rest for the show. SPEND AGAIN tracked the early pace from outside of runners, chased four wide to the quarter pole, came three wide into the stretch, needed more in the final furlong and passed tiring rivals late. DESERT PUNK settled off of the early pace, chased two wide and between runners along the turn, went two wide into the stretch and could not muster a late rally. BELIEVE IN MARKING sent to assume early command, set decent fractions while off of the rail into the turn, confronted by COMFORT J BYRD leaving the quarter pole, battled the winner to mid-stretch then faded through the late stages. THREE MARTINIS tracked the early pace from the inside, saved ground into the turn, chased from the rail into upper stretch and lacked a response.
