Chart notes
THE SMOOCH prominent early, contested the early pace from outside of FORTY FIVE, disputed solid fractions up the backstretch then took a narrow lead into the second turn, drifted out a path into upper stretch then dug in while leading at the furlong marker, clung to a narrow lead while all out in deep stretch and held in the final strides for a determined win. SOUPED UP WILDCAT was forwardly placed early on while three wide into the first turn, stalked the solid pace from outside of runners into the backstretch, pressed the pace into the second turn then vied for the lead at the quarter pole, battled between runners into the stretch, fought gamely to the final sixteenth and was bested for the win, while just holding for the place. THATSATERRIBLIDEA settled three wide to the first turn, was well placed into the backstretch and advanced nearing the half-mile pole, chased three to four wide into the second turn, vied for the lead into upper stretch then stubbornly battled into the final sixteenth, could not find more into deep stretch and just missed for the win and place, while well clear of the rest for the show. F S LIBERTY BELLE settled two wide and between runners early, steadied and got shuffled back a bit along the backstretch and trailed nearing the half-mile pole, re-engaged then chased three to four wide into upper stretch, could not impact the leaders into the stretch drive and ran on in the late stages. SIRRAH settled while saving ground into the first turn, tracked the decent pace while never far back up the backstretch, got caught in tight and took up approaching the second turn, re-engaged and chased four to five wide nearing the quarter marker, could not keep pace into the stretch and tired. BYE BYE HOLLEY raced close up while a bit keen early on, well placed into the backstretch run, tracked the pace between runners heading to the far turn, was caught in tight and checked midway through the second turn, could not find a response into the stretch and came up empty in the lane. SENSUOUS WOMAN hopped at the start and broke slowly, allowed to settle early, mounted a four wide middle move nearing the half-mile pole, could not keep pace into the second turn then faltered in the stretch drive. FORTY FIVE broke alertly and was sent to the early lead, carved out solid fractions while prompted up the backstretch run, lost the lead nearing the half-mile pole, could not keep pace to the far turn then faded. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN. THE STEWARDS DETERMINED THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE. IN ADDITION, THE RIDER OF SOUPED UP WILDCAT LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST THE RIDER OF THE SMOOCH FOR INTERFERENCE IN DEEP STRETCH.
